Hi all! Im Liễu, I'm working for WHT company and very nice to join dientuvietnam. English is very important with us so I am thinking for speaking with each other is a good idea to improve English. I'm not good at English, and feel listen very difficult.The biggest problem of me is volabuary. So can you help me!!! (Anyone) please! ^^

Try to break your writing into shorter sentences to avoid run-on.

Vocabulary is something you pick up every day by practicing English. There is not any short cut around this subject.

You really need to dig up your old books and start reviewing English.

As a Vietnamese who is learning English, I have some tips for anyone who like to learn English to break through the "wall" to improve your writing and speaking:
-Always have a dictionary beside you, it's very easy with your smartphone
-Read a grammar book, I suggest you to read the "Grammar English in Use" by Raymond Murphy, the book lists lots of grammar topics for you to read and practice the examples. Focus on what you like to read then finish the practices, it works!
-Read the articles you like on the internet, if you like hot girls, just search articles about hot girls and your English will improve! Lots of articles like: "10 things to do to win your girlfriends", the comments are all simple English
-Join international forums, facebook groups to practice your English by commenting, lots of people do that. USE SIMPLE ENGLISH. Don't hesitate to write, don't be shy, don't scare people will laugh at you

To improve your listening, use youtube and movies. You can see plenty of English channels about English speaking, try some interesting videos with beautiful teacher, nice breast, sweet voice and watch them again and again, if you don't understand all what they say, no problem, you will understand it later. Then if you like movies, choose interesting English speaking and watch it with Vietnamese subtitles first to understand the plot, then watch them again and again with English subtitles. Again, it's really interesting and useful. I always watch Katt Williams stand up shows with Vietnamese language first then watch him again with his voice, really funny.
And to improve your speaking, you should move to UK or America to speak English. Just joking, I will be back with speaking later

A. USE SIMPLE ENGLISH. Don't hesitate to write, don't be shy, don't scare people will laugh at you

Don't translate word for word from VN to EN. This is the most common problem when learning a new language. The root cause is very simple. We use what we know (VN in this case) to convey our messages. But some time we will end up with wrong meaning.

Take for example the idiom "don't rock the boat". If translated word for word, we will end up with "đừng [đi] lắc đò", which has different meaning in VN.

I would use "don't be scared of people who [may] laugh at you."

My advice to you is listen, but don't learn his way of talking. It sounds funny on stage, but will get you in hot water for mimicking his jive.

You scared people Mr. Whore and Mr. Fish. You know the biggest fail of Vietnam education system in teaching English is just pointing out people's mistakes? There are a lot of graduated students with 12 years studying English don't know how to speak, the teachers make them scared to speak, scared to write, they're scared of making mistakes Sirs. They think they are teaching in academic way, actually they are harming there students. You are not different to the English teachers here 2 decades ago. Why so serious? Is this behavior we inherit from our ancestor and all Vietnamese people act the same way no matter where they a living?

I am not, I speak what I want to say and I could go abroad alone for conference for 8 years. What I found there is people don't blame you when you speak the wrong way, they just ignore you when you say nothing. "Hey wait, don't go, I'm "chia động từ"-ing". If I have to translate word to word and people can understand I would do, why not? I appreciate anyone point out my mistakes with motivation, I'm still learning English.

What I want to share here is another way to learn English yourself apart of English hours at school. Not only me, so many people do it and it works! In many skills to learn, listening English in various accents, like African American English with Katt Williams, what's wrong with it?
